activities

Golden will again be hosting its annual Buffalo Bill Days celebration. This event dates back to the 1940’s as a trail ride up Lookout Mountain to Buffalo Bill’s grave. The Buffalo Bill Days Committee has expanded the activities through the years and it is now the largest community festival held in Golden. The event draws many people from surrounding communities who enjoy bringing their families to a wholesome, small-town community event.

muttin bustin

Muttin Bustin is a tradition at Buffalo Bill Days and one that won’t soon be left out. If you haven’t seen muttin bustin before, make sure that you don’t miss this quintessential Golden Event. Kids get dressed up in helmets and vests and hang on to a sprinting sheep for as long as they can. Similar to bull riding but on a wool covered sheep rather than a muscle-bound bull. Fun for the kids to participate in or to watch. Head over on Sunday to check it out.
